Peak shopping season in Australia is upon us again, bringing with it both opportunities and risks. As retailers prepare for key moments like Black Friday, Cyber ​​Monday and the summer holiday rush, fraudsters are also preparing for increasingly sophisticated tools that will allow them to easily strike at scale.

Adyen’s 2025 Retail Report reveals a harsh reality: Australians have lost almost $1,700 per person to fraud this year, almost double last year, with baby boomers hit hardest, recording a 332% increase in losses.
