AWS grants Sci-Port Discovery Center $30,000 for inclusion

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Amazon Web Services (AWS) has awarded Sci-Port Discovery Center with a transformative grant.

The grant will fund a major sensory accessibility project at Sci-Port to break down barriers and open up hands-on science exploration for neurodivergent children, adults, and families.

 Sci-Port gets $400K state funds for expansion, upgrades 

The $30,000 grant provided by AWS will fund:

• Dedicated Sensory Areas and Room Build-Out

• Sensory Bags & Facility Signage

• Comprehensive Staff Training & Certification

The initiative will create a more inclusive, welcoming environment for visitors with autism, sensory processing needs, PTSD, and other challenges.
