Amazon Web Services (AWS) is currently experiencing a major outage, causing disruptions to numerous websites across the internet. This issue is reportedly linked to a global Cloudflare outage.
Down Detector, an online platform that tracks internet outages, has recorded nearly 700 U.S. reports of AWS issues as of 8:28 a. m.
EST. Other websites impacted by the outage include Spotify, Facebook, Canva, and social media app X (formerly known as Twitter). The internet infrastructure service first confirmed its global network was facing issues at 11:48 UTC.
“Cloudflare is aware of and investigating an issue which impacts multiple customers: Widespread 500 errors, Cloudflare Dashboard and API also failing,” it announced in a status update, reports the Mirror US.
Since then, Cloudflare has posted several updates. At 13:09 UTC, it reported that the issue “has been identified and a fix is being implemented.”
