Australians are divided over the new addition to GP visits

Exclusive: Australians disagree about the use of AI tools in medical facilities, as they are becoming more common at doctor’s appointments and offices.
An exclusive nine.com.au survey of almost 1,200 readers found that more than a third are satisfied with the increase in AI tools being used Healthcare.

“I think this is perhaps an area where it will be useful,” one told nine.com.au.

About the same number of people declined to use AI tools in their medical appointments.

Many cited privacy concerns and fears AI hallucinationswhereby AI tools present false information as correct.

“I don’t trust AI at this point (and) the process is too new for primary care physicians or others to rely on,” one person said.

Dr. Michael Wright, president of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), previously told nine.com.au that GPs are looking closely at how they can use AI.
