Good morning For Zachary Wasserman, the role of CFO at Huntington Bancshares Inc. has expanded far beyond the balance sheet. He is also an AI strategist.
“I actually lead the company’s AI efforts,” Wasserman told me. “It’s an area of great personal passion for me.”
This passion leads to rapid change. As of the fourth quarter of 2022, Huntington only had two AI agents – discrete programs running within the company. Today, there are 50 in production and more than 60 in development, with about 15 new ones coming into the pipeline every month. The acceleration, Wasserman said, is deliberate and fundamental.
“It’s really a dramatic acceleration of agent process transformation, which is really important, including in my finance team,” he said. This includes SEC reporting, tax filing and data management, supporting over 200 regulatory reports annually, as well as broader productivity improvements.
