Silicon Valley is reeling a wave of layoffs since 2015but the situation at Larry Ellison’s Oracle has taken an ugly turn. Recent reports show a growing problem with Oracle layoffs, as former employees suspect the company used a special algorithm to eliminate the layoffs. According to these claims, Oracle’s job cuts may have specifically targeted seasoned veterans who were about to receive significant financial payouts.

The allegations note that Oracle’s 2026 layoffs disproportionately affected high-level individual employees and middle managers. Nina Lewis, a veteran who spent over three decades at Oracle, wrote one LinkedIn Post indicating a suspicious pattern.

“It appears (BUT I DON’T KNOW) that layoffs may be following an algorithm of senior individual employees and mid-level managers – particularly those with outstanding stock options,” she continued.
