Apple’s drastic overhaul The launch of Siri, announced Monday at WWDC 2026, seeks to make the smartphone voice assistant more helpful, more responsive to iPhone users’ personal information, and more action-oriented. A key aspect of this Siri overhaul is a partnership with Google Gemini to support the AI tool’s underlying model as part of Apple Intelligence.
After lengthy delays, Apple is moving forward with a dynamic repositioning of Siri that changes how the voice assistant looks on iPhones and gives people a new way to access it: a standalone Siri app.
This revision is expected to be available to consumers later this year. Soon, users will also be able to interact with Siri in a chatbot style and access previous conversations, similar to ChatGPT. Siri can also use personal information stored on your phone – including what is currently displayed on your screen – when answering questions.
