Several software stocks fell on Tuesday after Anthropic released the latest version of its Claude AI model, the Google- and Amazon-backed startup’s second major release in a matter of weeks, further stoking fears that the technology could disrupt markets.

Important facts

Shares of Oracle fell 3.4% to around $154 on Tuesday afternoon, contributing to declines at Thomson Reuters (3%), Salesforce (2.7%), Intuit (5.2%) and Adobe (1.4%).

Shares of enterprise software provider ServiceNow fell 1.1%, Atlassian fell 3.1%, Applovin fell 2.5%, while Palo Alto Networks and Autodesk fell more than 2% after the companies’ shares fell more than 11% and 23%, respectively, year over year.
