Roundtable 100 analysts threw a major surprise this week when they ranked a 16-year-old chip manufacturer 61 places above NVIDIA (Nasdaq: NVDA).

While NVIDIA is a 33-year-old chipmaker with a market cap of over $5.5 trillion, the analysts’ favorite has a market cap of only $1.6 billion.

Published with TheStreet, the Roundtable 100 ranks 100 publicly traded technology growth assets. Committee analysts score each asset on team, safety, value, innovation, and market dominance, with the average forming its power ranking.

The analysts gave NVIDIA a score of 23 out of 100 this week, despite the fact that the AI boom has turned it into the world’s most valued company.

On the other hand, Ambiq Micro (NYSE: AMBQ) secured a score of 63. The little-known chipmaker stood at No. 5 in the Roundtable 100, despite slipping four places this week.

NVIDIA, on the other hand, stood at No. 68, despite rising 17 places.

The Roundtable 100 analysts rank a company on the basis of its potential to grow in the future. But a company already at its peak has little chance of scoring a high score here.
