Amazon Web Services data center in St. Joseph County celebrates first graduates from training program

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) – The Amazon Web Services data center near New Carlisle in St. Joseph County welcomed staff into its new Campus Administration Building and celebrated the graduation of 58 new graduates from its training program.

The building includes office spaces, training rooms and a cafeteria.

Graduates are working in different roles at the facility. Christian Loomis said he does break/fix and part replacement, then runs tests to keep servers running. Rosalyne Swanson said her role as an auditor involves making sure everything is met at industry standards.

The $11 billion campus has hired around 1,000 employees so far. About 800 of them are Hoosiers.

Some of the local recruitment is done through partnerships with nearby colleges, including Ivy Tech, recruiting people with no tech background.
