Amazon Web Services announces a third data center campus is coming to Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – On Tuesday, August 18, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced its plans to invest $6 billion in a new data center campus in Shreveport.

A total of $18 billion will be invested in all three data centers in the Caddo-Bossier area.

The site, according to construction partner STACK Infrastructure, is at Resilient Technologies Park in west Shreveport.

According to Keith Klein of Amazon Web Services, this will be the third data center campus here in the Shreveport/Bossier area.

Klein says all 3 campuses are set to create 750 full-time jobs, including roles for electricians, engineers, and data center specialists. Citing pay and comprehensive benefits as a component of employment.

In his statement, Klein emphasized that AWS has been working closely with SWEPCO to ensure the power grid can handle the demand and that ratepayers are not affected.
