Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN delivered a mixed performance in the fourth quarter of 2025, posting revenue of $213.4 billion that beat expectations and rose 14% year-over-year. However, earnings per share of $1.95 missed the consensus estimate by just 1.52%. While revenue strength was encouraging, the stock fell sharply after management unveiled a stunning $200 billion capex plan for 2026, a steep increase from 2025’s $125 billion. This aggressive spending spree has sparked debate among investors about whether the AI-powered investment boom will reward shareholders or hurt returns in the near term.
The Zacks Consensus Estimate for AMZN’s 2026 earnings is $7.72 per share, which has undergone a downward revision of 2.2% over the past 60 days. The figure represents an increase of 7.67% over the figure reported in the same quarter last year.
