Amazon has announced that it will invest more than 16 billion euros in its German operations by 2027. The investment is intended to further drive growth in cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), satellite internet, and media production.
Germany as a European springboard
The announcement was made during the Invest in Germany Summit in Berlin. The investment package builds on the more than 100 billion euros that Amazon has already invested in Germany since 2010. A large portion of the investment—about 4.8 billion euros—will go toward expanding Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Frankfurt.
