Amazon is significantly increasing its investment in India as the company looks beyond traditional e-commerce and builds a larger presence across artificial intelligence, cloud computing, quick commerce and digital infrastructure. The company has announced plans to invest USD 48 billion in India between 2026 and 2030. This includes an additional USD 13 billion investment in AI and cloud infrastructure, announced in June 2026, on top of the USD 35 billion investment Amazon had announced across its Indian businesses in 2025. The latest plan takes Amazon’s planned AI and cloud investment in India to more than USD 21 billion between 2026 and 2030.For Amazon, India is therefore no longer just an e-commerce market.
