AI Reshuffles Brand Rankings Across Platforms

A phenomenon of “digital cognitive dissonance” has been confirmed, where top brands dominating the offline market are pushed to the bottom of recommendation lists generated by artificial intelligence. As recommended brands and leading companies vary depending on the AI platform used by consumers, there are urgent calls for companies to develop responsive AI strategies.


On Aug. 6, AIBIX Lab, the first AI brand evaluation company in South Korea, announced the “AIBIX (AI Brand Index),” an AI competitiveness index for 715 brands across 30 categories in the food and beverage and franchise sectors, on August 6. This survey is the result of analyzing brand appearance rates, mention shares, and official source citation statuses across four major generative AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude, from July 20 to August 4.


According to the analysis results, there was a significant disparity between actual brand rankings in the market and their competitiveness rankings within AI.
