Australians want artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the delivery of emergency services and many are willing to share personal information on triple zero (000) calls, a survey has found.
The emergency hotline and telecommunications companies have been under scrutiny since multiple deaths linked to a widespread Optus outage in September and the discovery of software bugs in Samsung phones that prevented calls to Triple Zero.
A survey of more than 2,500 people in Australia and New Zealand by Researchscape for Motorola Solutions in September found 86 percent of respondents were willing to provide emergency services with their exact location.
