AI is reshaping entry-level jobs and skills in Australian workplaces

Australian businesses are experiencing rapid changes in workforce dynamics as artificial intelligence (AI) increasingly shapes entry-level employment. New data shows that almost all companies report that AI is influencing not only the speed of hiring, but also the skills required for young talent.

Hiring slowdown

98 percent of organizations surveyed in Australia say AI is impacting hiring timelines and desired entry-level skills. Eight percent have completely stopped recruiting for entry-level positions. Another 30% have reduced the number of young talent they take on. Most companies expect deeper cuts, with more than 93% planning to further reduce entry-level hiring over the next five years.

Change skills
