AI goes after EQ, the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and Everest

Alibaba’s AI lab just released a new AI model that it says can read human emotions better than any prior AI system. It’s just one of several new models that debuted this week that took aim at domains, including creative writing and, yes, hiking, that were once considered the sole province of humans.
