Australians who rely on artificial intelligence to prepare their tax returns should think twice before filing their taxes, the tax office says, bracing for a new wave of dodgy advice and random “hacks” concocted by chatbots.
The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on Monday confirmed its priorities ahead of the end of the financial year, urging taxpayers to be wary of false or misleading information about their entitlements and obligations.
