AI Adoption: Governance and Infrastructure Gaps Hamper Scale
According to a new study from Nutanix, financial services companies are accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence, but governance weaknesses and infrastructure limitations prevent many from effectively scaling implementations.
The 8th Annual FFinancial Sector Enterprise Cloud Index (ECI) found that while AI adoption is widespread, organizational and operational challenges have become the biggest obstacles to broader implementation.
The survey revealed that 66% of IT executives are aware that employees are using unauthorized AI tools, while 86% believe that such “shadow AI” activity poses a risk to their organizations.
38% of respondents cited process complexity as the top barrier to scaling AI initiatives, followed by organizational issues such as leadership and skills gaps (34%). Technical limitations accounted for 28% of concerns.
