Americans are increasingly concerned about what artificial intelligence means for their future. According to a recent Quinnipiac poll, eight in 10 Americans say they are concerned about AI, compared to a third who say they are excited. More than half believe it will do more harm than good to their daily lives. Seven in ten believe this will reduce the number of jobs available.
Skeptical as they may be, they are about to pour more and more AI into their retirement plans and investment portfolios, whether they like it or not, tying their future ever more closely to the tech moguls’ frantic, risky, multibillion-dollar effort to develop machines capable of mimicking human thought processes to perform cognitive tasks.
