After mass layoffs, Oracle withdraws campus offers at IITs and NITs – The Economic Times

American technology company oracle has withdrawn dozens of job offers to students from leading engineering colleges, including Indian Institutes of Technology and National Institutes of Technology.

The development, which comes after recent mass layoffs at the company – one of the world’s leading enterprise software providers – heightens concerns at a time when placement season is nearing its end and hiring in the technology sector remains sluggish.

According to placement offices of several institutes, several offers have been withdrawn by Oracle for both full-time employees (FTE) from the batch of 2026 and summer interns at IIT-Delhi, IIT-Kanpur, IIT-Kharagpur, IIT-Guwahati, IIT-Madras, IIT-BHU, IIT-Hyderabad, IIT-Roorkee, NIT-Warangal, MNNIT-Allahabad, among others. An affected student, Aditya Kumar Barawal, who expressed his concerns on LinkedIn, attributed Oracle’s decision to “internal restructuring and headcount-related challenges.”

Oracle had hired many people and made up to 25 to 35 offers…
