RBA Governor Michele Bullock says the central bank has tasked its business leaders with studying how artificial intelligence will impact Australia’s workforce. So far, however, “there have not been many job losses due to AI.”
“Yes, there are some headlines, but not a lot yet. They don’t expect it to really have a significant impact on … the workforce (that they monitor) in the next 12 months or so,” Bullock said.

“I think there are two reasons for that. One is, and I think this is also a lesson from other technologies as they came to market, that it takes time to reorganize business processes to really take advantage of the technology to automate things like this,” she said at the summit.
