Sally McManus, secretary of the Australian Council of Trade Unions, says companies should share the productivity benefits of artificial intelligence with their employees by giving employees more free time. She believes this would increase confidence that the technology does not pose a threat.
McManus said that while employees may feel the pressure of increased workloads and have concerns about surveillance as AI becomes more widespread, the tools do not necessarily have to lead to job losses and could have a positive impact on jobs.
