News Corporation chief executive Robert Thomson says he is confident artificial intelligence companies understand the need to pay a premium for content and is negotiating with potential parties, as the media giant’s net profit fell 14 percent to $392 million ($566 million) in the half-year.
Revenue in the six months ended Dec. 31 was $4.5 billion, up 4 percent from the same period last year, driven by strong performance from the company’s Dow Jones financial news business and real estate assets, including REA Group.
