March 24 (Reuters) – Microsoft has agreed to lease a data center project in Texas “originally designed for Oracle and .”OpenAIBloomberg News reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the situation.
The Abilene site, with a capacity of around 700 megawatts, is adjacent to Oracle and OpenAI’s Stargate flagship campus, the report said.
According to the report, Microsoft reached an agreement with developer Crusoe after both Oracle and OpenAI stopped talks about occupying the site.
However, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters that there were no changes to OpenAI’s existing agreements with Oracle.
A spokesman for Microsoft said it had “nothing to share,” while Oracle and Crusoe did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment.
