Accenture has reportedly started referring to its 800,000 employees as “reinventors” as the consulting firm seeks to position itself as a leader in artificial intelligence.
The consulting firm’s chief executive, Julie Sweet, has already started referring to employees with the new term, and the company is now pushing to use the term more broadly, the Financial Times reported, citing company officials.
The Reinventor label emerged from a reorganization at Accenture in June that merged strategy, consulting, creative, technology and operations into a single unit called Reinvention Services.
The new consultant label is the latest in a long list of unusual terminology that big companies have forced on their employees, and some tech people are now being referred to as “ninjas,” “growth hackers” and “evangelists.”
