Broadcom Lands Major 10-Year Cloud Deal With Japanese Telecom Giant

Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO) signed a 10-year agreement to maintain and upgrade NTT DOCOMO’s private cloud in Japan, extending their VMware partnership and preparing infrastructure for future AI workloads.

The contract includes VMware Cloud Foundation licenses, technical assistance and maintenance. Broadcom said the deal is the first comprehensive 10-year VMware agreement signed by its Japan business.

The two companies plan to run virtual machines and containers on a shared platform, with room to support future artificial intelligence workloads. They also aim to automate software development and releases, which could help DOCOMO roll out digital services more quickly.
