Microsoft Digital Defense Report 2026: India ranks 7th globally in customer hacking impacts

According to the recently released Microsoft Digital Defense Report (MDDR) 2026, India was seventh globally in the countries where customers were most impacted by hacking in the first half of 2026. Drawing telemetry from more than 165 trillion daily security signals, the assessment highlights a threat landscape where malicious activity is moving with a faster speed, spreading across complex digital networks and narrowing the window organisations have to respond.

Three dominant trends defining modern cyber threats

The report identifies three fundamental shifts shaping digital defense today. The first is interconnected attack surfaces.
