UK data stays local as Rackspace achieves VMware cloud sovereignty mark

Rackspace Technology (NASDAQ: RXT) announced on Jan 14, 2026 that its UK Sovereign Services has received the VMware Sovereign Cloud certification. The certification verifies Rackspace can store, process, and protect sensitive UK data with full data sovereignty and jurisdictional control. Rackspace’s offering is a fully managed private cloud built on VMware, operated from UK-based data centres, and aimed at UK public sector, regulated financial services, and healthcare organisations to simplify operations and accelerate cloud adoption.
