More than half of Australia’s workforce – including 1.6 million managers, 147,000 lawyers and almost 800,000 finance staff – could be affected by white-collar “extinction” if predictions about where artificial intelligence will go come true, warns Clinton Free, an economics professor at the University of Sydney Business School.
Free took last week’s groundbreaking report from Anthropic on AI employment disruption and mapped it to Australia’s job classifications.
