Downing Street has made the move
There was widespread anger after the image tool for Grok, the AI element of
Grok announced in a post on X, owned by Elon Musk, that the ability to generate and edit images was “limited to paying subscribers.” Anyone who pays must provide personal information so that they could potentially be identified if the feature is abused.
Asked about the change, a Downing Street spokesman said it was unacceptable. “The move simply turns an AI feature that enables the creation of unlawful images into a premium service,” they said.
“This is not a solution. In fact, it is an insult to victims of misogyny and sexual violence…”
