YouTube is killing channels that create fake AI movie trailers

Earlier this year, it was reported that YouTube was keenly aware that its platform was being plagued by fake movie trailers, often for films that didn’t have their own trailers. These were created or marketed using generative AI and made searching for trailers so tedious, and now, thankfully, it’s a little less tedious.

Per Deadline, YouTube has shut down Screen Culture and KH Studio, two of the worst offenders of this trend that the outlet previously reported on. Both channels are affiliated with Screen Culture and have already made “trailers” for films like Fantastic Four: Getting Started And superman, or popular television shows like Squid games. Together, their content had over 2 million subscribers and over a billion views. Go to each page for both sites and it will say, “This page is not available. We’re sorry. Try looking for something else.”
