You Tried: Reminiscing about Internet Explorer’s 27-year odyssey

IE was one of the first browsers to support CSS or Cascading Style Sheets, which, as an amateur web coder, I also have a love-hate relationship with. I still try to remember my roots from time to time, but it’s really the kind of thing that brings me to tears.

Anyway, it’s thanks to IE that my various fansites are dedicated to bands like *NSYNC and Papa Roach, who survive only as runaways in the Internet Archive. I used common CSS tags like box width, height and opacity to arrange images and text. My favorite was word wrap, and you can bet I got it all right—as did the web design style during my emo kid phase.
