Amazon now allows Xbox owners to download Xbox Game Pass games using Alexa. The feature doesn’t require Alexa users to immediately install a skill, and it can be started with the words “Alexa, download [game] from Xbox Game Pass. ”

If you’ve already linked Alexa to your Xbox, the digital assistant will find the game and automatically install it on the linked Xbox. You can also ask Alexa what’s new or popular on Xbox Game Pass, and even find out what’s going to be leaving soon.

If you haven’t already linked Alexa to an Xbox, you’ll be asked to set up the link the first time you try to download a game using your voice. To do this, the Xbox capability must be installed via the Alexa app.

Microsoft is Amazon’s first gaming partner to bring this new Alexa direct download feature to market new Alexa app debuted on Xbox. With the Alexa app on Xbox, you can view email, weather, and other visual content, and use the digital voice command assistant to start Xbox games.

This new Alexa direct download option for Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be available to US users today. Further markets are planned for the future.
