Over the past year, digital skills have increased significantly to offset the exponential increase in new tech jobs. In fact, the World Economic Forum almost predicts it 150 million new tech jobs will be created over the next five years. Microsoft’s goal is to support learners who are interested in learning and building more including skills-based economy.
Today we announce that Microsoft is partnering with Coursera to create new opportunities for qualification in Azure through three new specializations: Azure basics, AI fundamentals and data fundamentals. Coursera is a leading learning platform, and we’re excited to bring on-demand Azure content to its 80 million or so learners.

New opportunities for Azure skills
The Specializing in Azure Fundamentals gives the learner a basic understanding of Azure cloud services as well as the knowledge to create cloud solutions. Additionally, learners can expect to learn more about the general security, network security, identity, governance, privacy, and compliance features of Azure, as well as pricing and support. This course helps learners build a solid foundation in Azure and prepare for that Microsoft AZ-900 exam.

In May we will launch AI Fundamentals and Data Fundamentals Specializations on Coursera. AI Fundamentals teaches learners about artificial intelligence (AI) topics such as machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and conversational AI. Data Fundamentals delves deeply into the roles and tasks associated with Azure for storing, processing, managing, and analyzing data.
With over 95 percent of Fortune 500 companies using Azure, learners can rest assured that after taking these courses and completing their certifications, they will have a range of skills that are in great demand in today’s workforce. Indeed, according to a March 2020 IDC Survey Spotlight, “Certified IT experts are promoted more than 50 percent faster than non-certified IT experts. “

As part of this initiative, we also offer over 600 eligible participants Women in the cloud Members Free access to all three specializations and their respective certifications. Women in Cloud is a community-led economic development organization aiming to create $ 1 billion in economic access and opportunity by 2030 by providing women with the tools, skills and networks they need .
