Olive will be able to identify special offers and “smart swaps” to help shoppers save money.
Woolworths also said Olive could act as a personal assistant for everything from everyday things to special occasions, such as planning a birthday party.
Bardwell said the technology is a global game-changer for retail.
“This is a convenient innovation where we do the heavy lifting for you and make shopping a little easier,” she said.
At this point, Olive is allowed to add items to the shopping cart, but cannot make purchases automatically, although Google has confirmed that the tool has this feature.
