As with every recent version of Windows Server, Microsoft has increased the security features of Windows Server 2022 to protect this important infrastructure component.

The release of Windows Server 2022 introduced several important security improvements. While there is no imperative that organizations should upgrade to Windows Server 2022 before support for older Windows Server versions ends, it’s a good idea to consider a Windows Server 2022 migration, especially for critical infrastructure such as domain controllers. A Windows Server 2022 upgrade brings the benefit of security features not present in previous Windows Server versions. Given the sensitive nature of domain controllers and other data center infrastructure components, it makes sense to harden these servers as much as possible by using the latest server operating system from Microsoft.
