Markets are increasingly concerned about the IT company’s ability to finance data center expansion and its partnership with OpenAI.
At the time of writing this article oracle (ORCL +0.88%) The stock has fallen 19.2% in the last five trading days. The move highlights growing skepticism about the company’s investments in artificial intelligence (AI).
What happened to Oracle?
Bond markets are increasingly concerned about Oracle’s ability to finance the company AI Investments and, last but not least, the $300 billion data center deal with OpenAI. The AI company is committed to renting servers, while Oracle has to build the IT infrastructure and lease the “shells” of the data center. Therefore, spending is focused on GPUs, network equipment and energy infrastructure, while at the same time leasing land and buildings.
