Why Atlanta may not land Amazon HQ2

ATLANTA — Amazon's second headquarters probably won't be coming to Atlanta, and now we may know the reasons for the rejection.

Georgia's lieutenant governor Case Cagle threatened to put restrictions on Atlanta-based Delta Airlines after the company announced it would stop offering discounted fares to the NRA.

But beyond that, Amazon believes Midtown and the Beltline aren't ideal locations, arguing Midtown is too developed and there isn't enough transportation along the Beltline.

But before Amazon's reps even toured the city, executives said they were greeted at the airport with a broken-down MARTA train.
