On the morning of January 7, a fire broke out in the Topanga State Park area of Los Angeles County. Spurred by drought and heavy wind conditions, the Palisades Fire quickly spread to hundreds and then thousands of acres, consuming thousands of structures along the way and displacing whole communities.
