Incredibly for those of us old enough to remember, it’s been over 21 years since the last Holden Monaro rolled off the assembly line, and more than 54 years since the last of the HG form. Holden’s performance coupe was unfortunately not part of the lineup when Holden ceased operations in 2020, but remains one of its most iconic models to this day. This got us thinking – like when we imagined a modern Holden lineup in November 2025 – what if Holden still made the Monaro today? What could AI create?

There’s no question that coupes and performance cars aren’t selling nearly as well as they once did, especially with the latest emissions standards and the fuel crisis we’re currently experiencing. But we’d like to think that in an alternate universe, Holden would have somehow found a way to produce the Monaro in 2026, albeit perhaps based on a potential Chevrolet Camaro.
