Three years after Broadcom acquired VMware, the channel is entering a new phase of the conversation. For much of that period, existing multi-year agreements meant many customers were insulated from the full impact of changes to VMware’s licensing, subscriptions and product portfolio. As those agreements come up for renewal, customers are confronting a different commercial reality.
That does not automatically mean migrating away from VMware. For some organisations, renewing will remain the right decision. Others may benefit from reducing their VMware footprint, consolidating workloads or introducing an alternative platform. Customers are increasingly asking the channel to help them make that decision.
Start before the renewal deadline
