What are the reasons for the recent job cuts at Oracle? | Computer Weekly

The news that an estimated 30,000 employees will lose their jobs at Oracle comes at a time when the company claims it will $533 billion in orders to fulfill.

As of May 2025, the company employed around 165,000 people. The latest quarterly earnings release shows that Oracle expects revenue of $67 billion and capital expenditures of $50 billion in 2026, which it said remains unchanged from its previous financial guidance.

For 2027, the financial forecast predicts sales of $90 billion. Neither the most recent quarterly earnings release nor the subsequent conference call with financial analysts revealed any changes in headcount.
