Another week down and it was mostly devoted to preparing for next week’s big events. Apple, Google, Samsung, and Huawei all posted announcements in week 42.
The reveal of the OnePlus 9RT was the hottest recent event of week 41. The new phone brings a Snapdragon 888 with improved cooling, a 6.62-inch AMOLED with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a touch sampling rate of up to 600 Hz, and a trio of cameras on the back – a 50MP IMX766 Main camera, 16MP ultrawide and a macro. The OnePlus 9RT will go on sale in China on October 19, with prices starting at CNY 3,300 ($ 510 / € 445 / € 38,500).
The Infinix Note 11 series was also introduced. The Note 11 Pro retains the screen diagonal of 6.95 inches, but the panel is now faster at 120 Hz. There’s a 5,000 mAh battery with a 33 W charge, a Helio G96 chipset, and a pair of usable cameras – a regular and a telephoto camera.
Looking ahead to next week’s events, Apple will showcase something on October 18th in an event called “Unleashed”. Smart Money is on updated MacBook Pros with the new M1X chip. There could also be AirPods at the event.
On Tuesday, October 19, Google will bring the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro with the specially made tensor chip, a new Pixel Stand and possibly even a Pixel Fold. Huge leaks this week have revealed most of what to expect – the Pixel 6 will have a 6.4-inch 90 Hz AMOLED and two rear cameras – 50 MP wide and 12 MP ultra wide. The Pixel 6 Pro will have a 6.7-inch 120 Hz AMOLED and three rear cameras – 50 MP wide angle, 12 MP ultra wide angle and a 48 MP 4x zoom. The alleged price of the Pixel 6 is € 649, while the 6 Pro is expected to start at € 899.
The day after Google, Samsung is holding its own event. According to some reports, Samsung will introduce new color options for the Galaxy Z Flip3 or announce home appliances as part of its Bespoke range. We’re unlikely to see a Galaxy S21 FE as recent reports suggest the phone will arrive in late December or January.
One day after Samsung comes Huawei, on October 21st. The most likely announcement is the global availability of the Huawei P50 series, but there haven’t been as many leaks recently as other launches, so we might be in for a surprise.
Finally, Sony has scheduled an event for October 26th that is another surprise. It’s going to be an Xperia phone, but it seems too early for an Xperia 1 IV when you see the 1 III just coming out. Or are we facing another plot twist?
That’s it for this week, see you next time!
The phone is quite different from both the OnePlus 9 and the 9R. It should be faster than either, and it has a better camera than the 9R
The official announcement comes on October 19, although there is very little left to reveal that hasn’t already been leaked.
It was now two weeks ago and the rumor mill hadn’t even heard a word about it. What is this mysterious phone that Sony has successfully kept under wraps?
A customized version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 for the Chinese market is available from CNY 16,999.
The clocks can run simple third-party apps and support intelligent functions such as Alexa and the control of smart homes.
And a Helio G96 chipset that can support the 120 Hz refresh rate. The 5,000 mAh battery is charged with the 33 W power supply unit supplied.
The first film Princess & pepper rose was shot entirely with the Galaxy S21 Ultra to advertise its cameras.
