Artificial intelligence has begun to eat itself, and struggling tech companies are beginning to lay off staff in a major shift aimed at the professional middle class.
Not long ago these jobs were Australia’s brave new place to work. Governments have urged universities to offer technical courses for job-ready graduates, while massive fee increases have actively discouraged students choosing to study courses that emphasize critical assessment, such as humanities and social sciences.
