Warhammer Maker Games Workshop bans its employees from using AI in its content or designs and says none of its senior managers are currently excited about the technology – IGN

Warhammer maker Games Workshop has banned the use of AI in its content production and design process, stressing that none of its senior managers are currently enthusiastic about the technology.

CEO Kevin Rountree presented the British company’s impressive financial results and discussed the topic of AI and how Games Workshop is dealing with it. He said GW employees are prohibited from actually producing anything with it, but admitted that “some” senior managers are experimenting with it.

Rountree said AI is “a very broad topic and to be honest, I’m not an expert on it,” and then laid out the company’s line:

“We have a few senior managers who are (experts in AI): no one is that excited about it yet. We have all agreed on an internal policy that is currently very cautious, for example we do not allow AI-generated content or AI to be used in our design processes or its unauthorized use outside of GW, including in our competitions.
