A virtual private network (VPN) is widely considered a must have for businesses that want to keep the data flowing through the network safe. However, most organizations also report problems using the tool.
This comes from a new report, DH2i, based on a survey of 228 respondents from various IT functions and industries, which says that most companies (62 percent) are struggling with “insufficient security” with their VPN.
“Concerns about the security of the devices accessing their VPNs, concerns about network access levels granted to VPN users, and the lack of visibility into what VPN users were doing on the network were the main causes of this pain,” it said Report.
Respondents also reported performance issues (45 percent), manageability issues, and reliability issues for DR. Four in ten now believe that their networks have already been violated by bad actors.
