(NYSE: VMW), a leading innovator in enterprise software, announced today that its board of directors has begun a search for a new chief executive officer (CEO) following Pat Gelsinger’s decision to step down to lead Intel as new CEO effective February 12, 2021. Gelsinger previously held various management positions at Intel for 30 years, including as Chief Technology Officer. Zane Rowe, VMware’s chief financial officer, has been named interim CEO. Gelsinger will continue to serve on the VMware board of directors.
