NEW YORK, June 17, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Flatiron School, a global institution that trains students in 21st century skills such as software engineering, data science, cybersecurity, and product design, today announced its partnership with VMware aimed at training Soldiers in a variety of software-centric roles as part of a larger retraining initiative underway at the US Army Futures Command.

As part of the partnership, Flatiron School will offer technical courses in product design and platform engineering, while VMware Tanzu Labs will provide comprehensive on-the-job training for soldiers to develop, develop, deploy and operate software in the same way as elite technology companies operate. Thirty hand-picked Army soldiers and civilians will be enrolled in the Software Factory program every six months for each of the next five years.
